A Cozy Home Office To Love❤️
When I designed a home for Alycia Kantor 2 years ago, we had no idea how important this little room carved out of her open floor plan would be. There was a time when having a home office was a wonderful bonus. In a year when we crave a little normalcy, the home office has become our saving grace.
She wanted a office the whole family could use. It needed to be a space for laptops and Legos Stadiums; online meetings, and online learning. And at the end of a busy day, it also needed to be a space to grab a good read, and snuggle up in the window seat. Alycia says it’s her favorite room!
The Design CoNCept
Alycia knew storage was a must-have to make the space functional. I also wanted to maximize the room by giving her a place for books and displaying treasured personal items, but also be really be functional for the whole family. What better solution than custom bulit-ins? A few open shelves & closed cabinets created the storage the family needed.

Every room needs some fabulous fabrics to the add the softness. So sourcing a great mixture of colors & textures was key. To bring the window treatments, cushions & pillows together, I layered patterns, colors & textures.
They like it & they really live in it
No matter how fancy the chair, if you can’t put your feet up & spin around a few times, what’s the point!!!
